We are very fortunate at West End Primary School to have an Intervention Team that works with children from across the whole school. We are a team of one teacher, two HLTA’s and two teaching assistants.
We work with children who need extra support in phonics, language development, reading and writing. The intervention provision that we offer changes regularly depending on the needs of the children.
We take children out of class for short bursts of time consistently, assessing the impact that the intervention has had and adapting our provision if necessary.
To offer this kind of provision in a primary school is very unusual and we're very proud of our team and the impact it has on our children.
